IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Moeena
Eckman
July 16, 1938 – June 8, 2023
Moeena Remior Eckman was born in Cascade, Idaho, on July 16, 1938, to Kermit Remior and Bernice Tyler. She passed away on June 8, 2023, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her parents; four children, Sid, Tammy, Trey, and Beau Buck; a sister, Dona Ong; and grandchildren, Sidney Williams and Malcolm Ogden Stroshine. She leaves behind her husband Glen A. Eckman; five daughters, Candy Woods, Kitty Forbush, Bunny Davis, Lilli Williams, and Wendy Buck; a son, Jason Buck; three step-children, Mike Eckman, Pamela Wintrode, Misty Wocelka; four half-brothers, Joe, Tom, Jack, and Chris Ward; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Moeena was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was baptized, at the age of 8, in the Snake River, near Homedale, Idaho. During her lifetime, she held many callings in the church.
She attended public school in Homedale, Marsing, and Nampa, Idaho. As a youth, she studied piano and violin, and was a member of the Nampa High School Choir. She married Sidney Buck in 1955. They had 10 children together. They were divorced in 1981. In 1985 and 1986, she and her sister, Dona, attended Boise State University, majoring in art, English Composition, musical composition , and playwriting. They both received honors from BSU. She wrote a novel based on the experiences of her children.
In 1987, she married Glen Eckman, a respected member of the St. Anthony community. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They filled many callings together, including a full time mission to Bradenton, Florida. During their years of marriage, they chose to make their combined family the focus of their efforts, and still found time to pursue many pleasant hours together. After her marriage to Glen, Moeena was fortunate to be able attend Ricks College, where she majored in Painting.
Moeena will be missed by her husband, Glen, and by her large family and friends, who she loved and served to the best of her ability; and because of her good example, she will remain a powerful influence in the lives of those she leaves behind.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, at the St. Anthony Stake Center, with Bishop Russ Miller officiating. There will be NO public visitation prior to services. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery.
