IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Monique
Morales
June 16, 1996 – August 9, 2023
Monique Morales (27), beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, foster mom/aunt, dog mom, and friend, passed away August 9th in a tragic car accident. Monique lived and loved big. She was passionate and kind, stubborn and beautiful, and she will be deeply missed. Although her years on earth were too few, the positive impact she made will live forever.
Monique's unique gift of bringing people together started early in her life as she softened everyone around her. Her parents, Natasha Ward and Art Morales, were smitten from the start, and her grandparents and uncles all fell deeply in love with their "Plum," "Slow Mo," and "Gorda." Monique became the glue for her family, and this role continued through her life. Monique loved her family fiercely, and she would do anything for them. Their many years together at baseball fields, with the Morales coaches, created an extended baseball family of 'Monique fans' as well. She spread sunshine and gathered friends everywhere she went.
After graduating from Madison High School in 2014, Monique received her CNA. She also served a mission in Lubbock, Texas, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She often gratefully reflected on her time in Texas as helping her to discover who she wanted to be. Her following years included deep friendships, several permanent and foster dog situations, and finally the beautiful gift of providing a home as a foster mom/aunt. At the time of her death, she was enrolled to continue her education in nursing.
Monique brought positivity to the world through her loving and vibrant personality. Her favorite things included reading, going to the gym, and being with her people. She was always up for an adventure. She loved Grand Teton National Park and enjoyed taking her dog, Bosa, hiking and swimming. She leaves an inspiring legacy of taking care of those around her and loving with her whole heart.
Monique is survived by her parents, Natasha Ward and Art Morales; father, Gus (Katrina) Chavez; siblings, Arthur Morales III, Nevaeh (Tanner) Morales, Mariah (Xander) Morales; grandparents, Art "Senior" and Jan "Babe" Morales; uncles, Rick (Katie) Morales, Bobby (Brooke) Morales; cousins, Kierstan (Ryan) Pinnock, Ricky Morales Jr., Anthony Morales, Alanna Morales, Robert Morales Jr.; foster niece, Anjalesse "Baby Girl," and Godmother "Nina" Desiree Tafoya. She was preceded in death by Godfather "Nino" Patrick Tafoya.
