Mont C Jones, 77 of St. Anthony, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Mont was born June 12, 1944 in Nephi, Utah to Harold C and Donna Blanche carter Jones. He was raised in Nephi. His dad taught him to work on heavy equipment, but Mont learned the most when he worked at a Gas Station. By the time he was 18, Mont could operate, maintain and repair almost any type of machinery.

He joined the National Guard during Vietnam, where he was responsible for mechanical maintenance of tanks and other heavy equipment. He was responsible for operating and teaching others these same skills.

He was a long haul trucker for about 20 years, based out of Pocatello, ID and Salt Lake City, UT. In the early 1990s Mont relocated to St. Anthony, ID, where with his partners Don and Lucie Ker established St. Anthony Truck Repair, until his retirement in 2011.

He married Cindy Jo Walters on June 30, 2007 in Kilgore, Idaho and they made their home in St. Anthony. Together they enjoyed camping and fishing and just being in the outdoors. Mont played the role of chef for all the family barbecues.

Mont is survived by his wife Cindy; children, Garl Dean Jones; Sunshine (Mike) Keuter-Jones; and Star Keuter; siblings Scott (Linda) Jones; and Louann (Ronald) Thalmon; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his cousin and best friend Marlow (Marjorie) Blackett. He was preceded in death by his parents; his Aunt Nadine Blackett; his Uncle Ron Jones; and nephew, Thane Thalmon.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 at the funeral home.
