Monty Wayment Rigby, 80 of Idaho Falls, ID, formerly of Egin, Idaho, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT.
Monty was born November 21, 1931 in Parker, Idaho to Rulon Remington Rigby and Virgina Wayment Rigby.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended school in St. Anthony, Idaho and growing up he loved to ride horses and attending rodeos. He enjoyed his garden, creating unique fence designs and log and rock landscaping.
He married Shirley Jean Bowman on September, 9, 1950, they later divorced. He married Leilani Jeannie Colyar March 26, 1974, they later divorced. He married Aura-Lee M. Tanguay Prophet on November 2, 2002.
Monty and Aura-Lee owned and managed Desert Oasis RV park until Jan, 2007. Monty then bought and sold cattle from 2008 until 2011. He and Aura-Lee loved spending their winters in Yuma Arizona where they enjoyed dancing, shuffle board, and horse-shoe tournaments with many friends.
He is survived by his wife Aura-Lee; children, Trisha Dawn (Bill) Smigaj; Diane Laynette (Richard) Winters; Teri Lynn (Gary) Huling; David Bowman (Susan Klahn) Rigby; Mona Larraine (Rey) McCallum; Neal Brett (Lonnie Kennedy) Rigby; Siblings, Gene (Zola) Rigby; La Dell Miller; Shirley Yancey; 33 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law Brenda Roberts Rigby. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry, his son Monty Rulon and three infant children, Steven Joshua; Tiffiney Virginia; and Timothy Earl.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Egin LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
