Morris was born to Dean Grover and Lois Walker Grover of Rexburg, Madison, Idaho, where he lived throughout his childhood. The second of the 10 children Diane, Paul, Val, Susan, Michelle, Beverly, Scott, Steve, Jeff. Morris grew up on his family's farm.
Morris served a two-year church mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints in Taiwan, where he spoke Mandarin.
Morris married the love of his life to Cindy Willis at the Idaho Falls, Idaho, Temple. Together they had had five children, James Trenton Grover, Jennifer Grover, Brandy (Ryan) Blackwell, Krystal (Tyson) Flohr, and Victoria (Jacob) Wood. He has 16 grandchildren.
Morris was a photographer, well-known throughout the professional photographers association, and won numerous accolades for his portrait, and commercial works. Later in his career, Morris works for the Oregon State Parks Department. He loved building and built or helped build many homes.
Morris was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer (motor vehicle accident) and his wife Cindy (cancer).
