Obituary

Nancy Gout, 86, of Teton, Idaho, died June 19, 2025, at her home of natural causes.

She was born April 19, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles "J.T." and Eunice McPheeters Jackson.  She was raised and attended schools in Salt Lake City.  She was a graduate of East High School.

She married Richard R. Gout on August 9, 1957, in Salt Lake City.  Two sons, Rick and Roger, were born to this union.

They lived in Salt Lake City until 1969, when they moved to Rexburg.  They lived on East 2nd North until the Teton Dam flood destroyed their home.  They then moved to Teton City where she resided until her passing.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in the Primary and in other callings.

She enjoyed the quiet rural setting of Teton.  She and Richard would raise steers every year, and then share the meat with their family.  She also liked to fish and spend time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Rick (Michele) Gout of Payson, Utah, and Roger (Beverly) Gout of Rexburg; a sister, Betty (LaVar) Rushton of Rexburg; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Eunice; husband, Richard; brother, Jay Jackson; and a sister, Marilyn Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, at the Teton LDS Chapel, with Bishop Rhett Jackson officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.  Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
