Nedra Blair Keppner, 92 of Rexburg, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 7, 1919 in Lewiston, Utah to Karren Jerald and Velva Glover Blair, the first of two children. Her life was full of trials from a young age. When eight years old she lost her father to heart failure and she helped her mother raise her brother Nolan who was four years younger. She graduated from the 8th grade and shortly after she lost her mother at age fifteen.
At age sixteen, she married Stephen Keppner. They had three children, Vel Ray, Fern and a son Karren. She was always there for her family and did what ever work she could do to help provide for them, cooking for crews in the timber to "Toy Land Lady" at King's.
She loved to crochet and made many things for all her "kids". She served the people around her during the flood of 1976, taking in laundry and washing for those who had no way to wash their clothes. She taught all of us to love family first.
She is survived by a daughter; Fern Cooper of Rexburg, a daughter-in-law; Jan Keppner of Buffalo, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 37 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Vel Ray, son Karren , sons-in-law Kay and Blair, her parents and brother Nolan.
