Nicolasa Garcia Robledo, 92, of Sugar City passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Victor, Idaho at the home of her daughter, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born September 10, 1922 in Rancho Morones, Tlalttenango de Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas Mexico, to Ursino and Carmen Robledo. She was the 3rd child of nine children.
She grow up in Rancho Morones, Mexico where she meet her sweetheart Nicolas Garcia. They married November 8, 1937 and move to Rancho Los Aguajes, Zacatecas Mexico. The young couple settled into a life of farming and had 10 children. Soon after her sweethearts passing on March 16, 1978 she moved to Newdale, Idaho, along with five of her children.
In Newdale, Idaho is where she was baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints, along with her five children. She had one of the hardest most rewarding jobs that of a homemaker. She didn't work outside her home. She helped raise all 50 of her grandchildren. The family moved to Teton, Rexburg, and settled in Sugar City, where three of her children lived in close proximity to each other.
She enjoyed spending time with family. She loved to grow flowers and enjoyed seeing the beauty of them. She helped and served those in need, she never forgot the family members she left behind in Mexico, she would collect clothes and shoes to take with her on her trips to Mexico to give to them and the people in need. She was a great example to all and lived a life of service. She dedicated her life to her family.
She leaves behind 8 loving children; Maria del Refugio Garcia Guerro, Marcelina Garcia Costilla, Julian Garcia, Enrique (Delia) Garcia, Eva (Ignacio) Serrano, Elvia (Jose) Hernandez, Alfredo Garcia, Olga Garcia; 50 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14 at the Sugar City LDS Chapel 6 N. Teton Ave. The family will receive friends, Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 N. 1st E. Rexburg. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
