Nina Firth, 88, of Rexburg died Monday, May 26, 2014. She was born October 1, 1925 in Rexburg, Idaho to Earl and Cora Lucy Arnold Bowen. Nina moved to Wilson at six years old. The family moved back to Rexburg when she started school. She married William Firth on July 28, 1942.
The day after they were married, Bill was shipped off to Army basic training. During his absence, their first daughter, Jeanene, was born. Upon Bill's return, they moved out to Thornton and started farming on the Firth Homestead. Life on the farm included three more children, Earlene, Lamont and Kenneth. The family spent many years working and enjoying the land.
Nina loved to quilt, do yard work, and garden. Bill passed away in 1988, Nina sold the farm, and moved to Idaho Falls for twelve years, and back to Rexburg for the remaining time.
Nina is survived by her children, Jeanene (Brent) Hensley of Rexburg, Idaho; Earlene (Kent) Mickelsen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Lamont Firth of Saint Anthony, Idaho, Kenneth Firth of Thornton, Idaho, as well as twelve grandchildren, twenty grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Flamm Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to services, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery.
