Obituary

Orlin John Tirrell passed away on Sat. July 2, 2016 in Rigby Idaho.

He was born September 26, 1921, in Ririe Idaho, the second youngest of 10 children born to Albert Tobias Tirrell and Elizabeth Jane Lovell.

He grew up working with his family on a dry farm near Ririe. He enjoyed working for his older
brother Eldon hauling coal from the Blind Bull Coal mine to Rigby Idaho.

He married Vada May Coles on April 24, 1942. They made the perfect couple then and always have been since that wonderful day.

During WW2 he served in the Army in Alaska. He spent many hours driving and helping build up the Alaskan highway and also served as a fireman. Vada was also able to be in Alaska for some of the time he spent there.

After the war, he drew a homestead on the Heart Mtn. Bench near Powell, Wyoming. During this time they were blessed to have 5 sons, Brent Jay Tirrell (Carolyn) of Lovell Wyoming, , Curtis Alvin Tirrell, Rick Tirrell, Bart Coles Tirrell (Lori) Olympia Washington, Douglas Orlin Tirrell,(Julie) Rigby Idaho. Orlin was preceded in death by sons,Curtis, Rick and great grandson, Joseph Strom. He has 13 grandchildren, 30 great children and 2 great great grandchildren. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the ideal role model for his children, all of which are active and following in his footsteps today.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rigby 12th Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home (61 N. 1st E., Rexburg) and on Wednesday from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery with Military Rites.
