IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela
Ivey
November 6, 1954 – June 4, 2023
Pamela Sue Ivey of Saint Anthony returned to her loving God on Sunday, June 4, 2023, to abide in His peace and love forever. Pamela had fought a long, valiant, faith-filled battle with numerous illnesses up until the time of her passing. Pamela was born on November 6, 1954, to Dewey Ivey and Margaret Margie Walters in Mineral Springs, North Carolina. She spent most of her growing up years in North Carolina being cared for by one of two special women in her life. One was her grandmother Ila Bell Ivey, a woman who worked hard to give her many children and grandchildren the care, love, and hope they needed. The other was her step-grandmother
Nursean Locklear, a faithful, caring woman who helped Pam feel love. She also had the support of some special relatives such as her Uncle Bobby and Aunt Viola Ivey.
Pamela worked hard to make a good life for herself even though she faced adversity and hardships much of the time. As an adult, one of her jobs was to help open a line of department stores in various locations around the country. Eventually, around 2004, Pam was sent to open a department store in Rexburg, but while there, she came down with an illness that caused her to have to quit working and stay there. After a while, Pam moved to Saint Anthony, Idaho, where she spent the remainder of her years.
Pamela enjoyed arts and crafts. She would use her talents in these areas to fix up older artworks or pieces of furniture and make them more beautiful. She also enjoyed watching and learning about home decorating and would often rearrange and redecorate her place. However, Pamela's greatest love may have been for the many animals she cared for. She especially loved cats and would frequently put cat food out when she noticed a hungry stray or kittens hanging around. She was a wonderful cat mom and her "babies" (especially Roscoe) were well cared for and loved. Even cats that struggled around other people felt comfortable with Pam.
As an adult, Pamela joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Pamela has carried a deep and abiding love for God and a strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ ever since. She thanked God often for his love for her and the blessings He gave her. She strove to live a faithful and devoted life and loved and served others when she could. Pamela touched many lives and made lifelong friends, especially from her church wards, and brought light into the lives of those who knew her. She had a way of making others feel special. She celebrated their accomplishments or good fortunes with them, and when they were struggling, she made them feel better with her love and her listening ear. Pam will be deeply missed by those friends and family members who loved her dearly.
Pamela's friends invite you to a memorial service to honor her on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the Saint Anthony 4th Ward Relief Society room. Pamela will be buried in North Carolina and her life will be celebrated with family and friends there at a later date.
