Patricia Diane Hillman

Patricia Dianne Heileson Hillman, age 94, a longtime resident of Sugar City, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, in Montpelier, Idaho.

Born on March 17, 1932, in Driggs, Idaho, Patricia was the fifth of seven children born to Ralph and Thora Ricks Heileson. She loved her upbringing in Felt and Tetonia, Idaho, holding fast to fond memories of her childhood home and her mother. Taking the bus into Driggs for school each day, Patricia proved to be an excellent student and an adamant rule-follower. Her high school years were active ones, filled with basketball, baseball, and playing the clarinet. Following graduation, she furthered her education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.

On June 16, 1952, Patricia married her high school sweetheart, John Alfred Hillman, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together, they built a family, and Patricia always considered raising her children to be among her greatest accomplishments. Outside the home, she worked for many years in the Special Education Department of the Sugar-Salem School District, where she developed a deep love and appreciation for the students and staff.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Patricia served in numerous callings within her ward, stake, and on the BYU campus. Following their retirement, she and John shared the joy of serving missions to the Washington D.C. Temple and the Tempe, Arizona Mission. They also dedicated 13 years of service together in the Idaho Falls and Rexburg temples.

Patricia was a woman of many talents who enjoyed quilting, painting pottery, gardening, and making Christmas stockings for her loved ones. Above all, she valued hard work, integrity, and the thrill of finding the best huckleberry patch out there.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her daughter, Jill Clark; her granddaughter, Ashley Hillman; her parents; and her sisters: Marian Durtschi Butler, Joanne Jorgenson, Dorothy Dalling, Barbara Heileson, and Sara Lee Gibb.

She is survived by her six children: Pam (Rex) Hibbert of Henry, Idaho; Bruce (Terry) Hillman of Montpelier, Idaho; Randall (Jana) Hillman of Newdale, Idaho; Blair (Gretchen) Hillman of Peoria, Arizona; Keith (Shawna) Hillman of Wilford, Idaho; and Holly (Darin) Bratsman of Hooksett, New Hampshire; as well as her son-in-law, Todd Clark of Kaysville, Utah. Her legacy lives on through her 32 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and her brother Kent Heileson of Roy, Utah.

A visitation will be held at Flamm Funeral Home on Friday, July 24, from 5:30 to 7:00pm. A graveside service will follow at the Darby Cemetery in Driggs, Idaho, on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00am. Following the service, the family warmly invites loved ones to a luncheon at the Newdale church.
