Obituary
On Thursday, September 10, 2015, heaven welcomed another angel. Patricia Smith, 78, of Rexburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep.
She was born December 26, 1936, in Colfax, California. A daddy's girl from the beginning, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her father. She grew up in Elk Mountain, Wyoming where she graduated from high school in a class of four girls.
She married Lyle Smith on December 21, 1954 in the Little White Church in Elk Mountain. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
In 1956, they were blessed with their first daughter, Jacki, born in Fort Benning, Georgia, where Lyle was stationed. Their next blessing arrived two years later with the birth of their second daughter, Susan, in Rexburg, Idaho.
Patricia is preceded in death by her father, Buster A. Makinen.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle R. Smith of Rexburg; her mother, Edna Lyle Makinen of Saratoga, Wyoming; sister Wanda Daniels of Elk Mountain; daughters Jacki (Robert) Lueoff of Idaho Falls, Susan Smith of Rexburg; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
