IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patty Lyne
Hathaway
December 20, 1943 – October 24, 2024
Patty Lyne Hathaway passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 24, 2024, At the age of 80.
Patty was born on December 20, 1943 to Earl and Pearl Hansen. She grew up in Wilford on the family farm. On her trips into Saint Anthony, a tall, handsome boy named Lynn Hathaway caught her eye. They married on May 18, 1961,(later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple) and moved briefly to page Arizona where Lynn worked on the Glenn Canyon Dam.
After returning to Idaho and settling in Saint Anthony, They desired to start a family, but it became a struggle and they decided to adopt. In February 1967, they were called to Boise to pick up their daughter, Teisha. Three years later, Patty became pregnant and Drex joined their family, followed by Taff and Kam. Patty loved being a mother and a homemaker, and she and Lynn were inseparable.
When Kam was in sixth grade, Patty decided to go to work. She became a cook for the Fremont County school district and worked at Henry's Fork and South Fremont Junior High. She made many friends during those years, several of whom she still considered her best friends.
When she and Lynn both retired, they spent time traveling the countryside, delivering wood for Willmore Lumber. Patty loved spending that time with Lynn. When Lynn passed away from cancer in 2011, Patty was devastated. She began following her grandkids in their sports and could often be found at the softball field, soccer pitch, or volleyball court with her family.
She spent time playing the piano until painful arthritis prevented her from continuing. As her health declined, she spent more time at home, often going out for lunch and treats with her friends. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Patty had been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, but after at least one heart attack, it was heart failure that took her from us. The family wishes to thank the staff at Carriage Cove in Rexburg for their care and attention to Patty during her last month with us.
Patty is survived by her children, Teisha (Kent) Daniels, Drex (Brandie) Hathaway, Taff (Lani) Hathaway, and Kam (Troy) Willmore; 18 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Lynn, her parents Earl and Pearl Hansen, her parents-in law, Shirley and Beth Hathaway, her brothers, Burdette, Lyle, and Nyle, and sisters-in-law Marla Mower, Barbara Hansen, and LaVerle Hansen. We know that there were many happy reunions in heaven yesterday!
