Paul Hemsley

Paul S Hemsley, 70, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away from this life on October 26, 2026 at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Paul was born on December 29, 1955 to Edward Hemsley Jr. And Nadine Streeper Hemsley in Rexburg.

He attended kindergarten and elementary school at the Edmunds School in Plano. He completed elementary school at the Park School in Sugar City. He graduated in 1974 from Sugar-Salem High School.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed serving with Bishop Bell as a financial clerk in the Ricks College 28th ward.

Paul lived out his life on a family farm in Plano, working together with his father and brothers, raising wheat, potatoes, alfalfa and beef cattle. Later, he farmed together with his brother Lynn, working most days, side by side.

Paul enjoyed exploring in the desert, riding ATVs at the sand dunes, and going ATV trail riding in the mountains with friends, neighbors and his brothers.

Paul loved old farm machinery - anything with a thick coat of rust - reading and learning about it during winter. He made it his mission in life to preserve old relics. He made friends with those that shared his interest in flywheel engines, old tractors and items used around old farmsteads and ranches.

He is survived by his brothers Lynn and Michael and was preceded in death by his parents.

We offer a special thank you to everyone at Teton Cancer Institute in Rexburg for thier service to our brother and everyone else that had a hand in his care.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Plano LDS Church. His brothers will receive family and friends on Sunday, November 1, 2026 from 5:30 pm till 7:00 pm at the Plano LDS Church as well as on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 10:00 am till 10:45 am prior to the service.
