IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Perry
Annett
July 19, 1946 – December 15, 2024
Our beloved friend Perry Edwin Annett passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his longtime friend Michelle after a long arduous battle with colon cancer at the tender age of 78. Perry was born on July 19, 1946 in Gordon, Nebraska to William R. Annett Jr. and Bette Grace Tonkin.
After graduating in 1964 from Gordon High School he moved to begin a career with West Coast Airlines on the Oregon coast. Shortly after arriving he was drafted into the 1st Air Cavalry Division United States ARMY as Flight Operations Specialist and was sent to An Khe, Vietnam in March 1966 until March 1968. After returning stateside he worked making dynamite and nitroglycerin in a factory.
Once enrolled in Cochise College in 1980 he found his 43 year long love for Marketing and Education. In 1976 he completed his Master's in Education from University of Arizona where he relocated to Globe to teach Marketing. He taught in Globe, AZ, Greybull, WY, Carefree, AZ, Lahaina, HI, Mesa, AZ, Phoenix, AZ, England, and retired in 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. His passion grew early as a member of DECA himself, later becoming an advisor and winning years of accolades by helping many students reach their maximum potential over the years. He held those relationships and memories close, especially at the end of his life.
In 2000 he settled in Las Vegas, NV and accepted a position at Eldorado High School. Over the years he did everything possible for DECA and the students he worked closely with. He was the most dedicated advisor many knew. During the summers he enjoyed taking groups of students on tours abroad from 1976 to 2018. This was where he truly fell in love with Paris and European culture. This he held in his heart all his life and wished he could have returned for one last journey.
Perry had the best humor and wit, he was a unique friend to all who knew him. He loved animals, art, Bordeaux, friends, good food, his car, music, taking notes, traveling, and left this world with Guinness on his lips and music in his heart. Our friend had too few regrets to mention and truly loved living his life his way. He was fulfilled with the life he lived and was sad it was being cut short because of the effects of agent orange. He fought like no one I have ever seen until his body could not anymore.
A special place remains in his heart for the love, dedication, and compassion shown by his caretaker Michelle; a dear friend of more than 20 years.
Perry is survived by his brother Bill (Escalanti) Annett of Loveland, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bette Annett and sister, Mary Lou Annett.
In lieu of a funeral Perry has requested you celebrate his life with music in your heart and Guinness in hand!
"Cheers to My Good Friends and Our Cherished Memories! You know who you are." Your Friend, Perry
