Philip John Steinacker, 76 of St. Anthony passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was born July 31, 1944 in Park Falls, Wisconsin to Leonard Joseph and Mary Magdalen Oswald Steinacker. Phil received his education in Park Falls schools where he graduated from Park Falls High School in 1964. He joined the 724th Combat Engineer Battalion of the Wisconsin Army Nathional Guard and served for 8 years.
He moved to Idaho in 1976 to log with the Bill Wocelka family. In 2001 he went to work for Matlack Long Haul Trucking and then for Tri State Trucking.
On July 21, 1984 he married Nancy Ann Fletcher and they made their home in St. Anthony.
Phil was an amazing friend and grandpa and taught his grandson's how to hunt and fish. He was a gunsmith and was very talented at fixing guns. He also loved reloading his own ammo and was an avid reader.
He is survived by children Stacy (Scott) Bernstein of Park Falls, WI; Derek (Jana) Inns of Salem, ID; Kathy Floyd of Justin TX; Sister, Lenore (Mark) Hoffman of Park Falls, WI; Nephew's, Chris (Janet) Hoffman; Christopher (Kristen) Hoffman; Cody Hoffman all of Park Falls, WI; Cade Bush of Madison, WI; Niece's, Jennifer (Scott) Bush and Savannah Bush both of Madison, WI; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 2 step sons.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wilford Cemetery with military rites by the St. Anthony Veterans and the Idaho Honor Guard.
