Obituary

Philip Madrigal, 85, of Rexburg, died Monday, April 15, 2013. He was born in Burton, Idaho to Lucas and Rosie Madrigal on May 15,1927. He attended schools at Burton and Madison High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1947. He farmed with his father from a very young age in Burton. He married Reba L. Bybee on February 7, 1992. She died in 2002.

In 1975 he started work as custodian for Madison County Court house. He loved his job and the people he worked with. He retired at age 70. His co-workers at the court house named him "Super Good Guy" one year and his picture and an article was printed in the Standard Journal that year.

He loved to drive and take his wife, Reba, for many trips around Idaho. His favorite place was Burton. He moved to Rexburg after the flood of 1976. His parents lived in Burton since 1922. They never moved and were the only Hispanic family to live that long in Madison County. They passed away in 1963 and 1977.

Philip is survived by his sister Delores Madrigal of Rexburg, step-daughters Cathy Bybee and Lisa Smith both of Boise, step-sons Ronny Bybee of Tennessee and David Bybee of Utah, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, an infant sister, half brother Raymond Cabrera, half sisters Juanita Perez and Emma Sandoval.

The family will meet with friends Wednesday, April 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Flamm Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
