Phyllis Joy Williams was born in Manti, Utah, the fourth child and first daughter of Charles Roscoe and Elda Sorensen Williams. She had seven brothers and one sister. She attended school in Mills and Levan, Utah, and graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah.
She married the love of her life, John Bowman and they are the parents of six children. More than anything else, Phyllis enjoyed being with family. She loved family trips, and she loved visiting and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She passed through many trials, but she endured them well.
She cherished her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and her pioneer heritage. She served faithfully in many callings and especially loved working in the nursery. She also loved to attend the temple with family members and friends, and was always grateful that she was able to serve in the Rexburg Temple.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved husband, John, her daughter, Lorraine, four brothers, three sisters-in-law, and four-brothers-in-law. She is survived by her remaining children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, nine sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We would like to thank all of our wonderful family, friends, neighbors, and ward members for loving kindnesses and help with Phyllis’s care, especially the Wilson family and Dr. Rebecca Jeppson and staff. We would also like to thank Loni, Kim, Shelly, and all the wonderful people from Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their tender and loving care and support.
