Poasa Kirt Rareba, 43, of Orange, California after a brief illness, unexpectedly passed away Saturday morning, October 30, 2021 with his wife by his side.
Poasa was born October 3, 1978 in Kahuku, Hawaii to Rose Marie (Olson) Rareba and the late Apai Nadavelevu Rareba; he is the oldest of their eight children. Poasa spent the first 8 years of his life running barefoot on the shores of Hawaii. His family relocated to South Texas to be near family and labor in the family grapefruit orchard.
Poasa, an Eagle Scout and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved football and excelled in his high school engineering program. He graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 1997 and briefly attended the University of Texas at Brownsville.
He moved to Southern California to work in Real Estate. On December 19, 2003 he was married for time and eternity to Elizabeth Rene Nolan in the San Diego, California temple. They made a home in Arizona where he diligently supported his family as a field superintendent for Pulte Homes. Years later they returned to Orange County where he managed vacation rentals and enjoyed raising their young children together. Poasa was a loyal friend and a faithful servant to his family.
Poasa is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Elizabeth; along with their six adoring children; Daughters, Lavenia(13), Ranadimaiviti (12), Yalewacakitaki (10), Sereima(6); Sons, Apai (8), Poasa (4); his mother Rose Marie (Olson) Rareba; Grandparents, Kirt and Beth Olson; Brothers, Tabusoro (Amanda) Rareba, Siriboto (Rebekah) Rareba, Nadavelevu; Sisters, Bethmarie, Lavenia (David) Gillespie, Ranadinitalei (Bradley) Dukes, Mereonileilani(Eli) Stock; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and lifelong friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Saturday November 13 at the LDS Newdale chapel, 350 Church Street, Newdale, ID 83436. The burial will follow soon after at the Teton-Newdale cemetery.
