Obituary

Prudence Pease Meader was born on May 18, 1940 in Port Washington, NY and passed away on February 1, 2021 at her home in Sun City, Arizona. Her family left Long Island and moved to New Hampshire in the early 1950's where she grew up on a farm. She was active in 4H and Future Farmers of America and won many ribbons at local country fairs showing her cows as well as competing in dressage on her horse named Ginger. She graduated from Exeter High School in 1958 and attended Mt. Ida College where she got a degree in Office Management.

She married Glenn Little in 1961. After the birth of their first son, Seth, they moved to Redondo Beach, California, where their second son, Jason was born. After their divorce, she met and married Robert Griffin. They moved to El Segundo, California, where they made their home. After Robert's untimely death in 1976, she continued raising her two young boys even taking them in 1977, to live in Wales, U.K., for a year to enhance their world view and expand their education. After retiring from a long career with the Devere Company, she moved to the Phoenix area where she met and married the love of her life, Col. Byron Meader. Together, they traveled around the world and throughout the United States. They made many trips in their camper hunting and fishing in remote areas. Their shared interests even took them to the remote regions of Alaska and other inaccessible places by air. They spent hours researching their families' history only to discover they were cousins - six-times removed. After selling their seasonal, summer home in the remote forests of Maine, they bought a second house in Rexburg, ID where they spent their final summers.

They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on May 15, 2000, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 27, 2001. They truly enjoyed the church family and had many friends in Sun City, Arizona, Rexburg, ID, and the many friends they met in their travels. It's a great comfort to know that Prudence has joined Byron in the celestial kingdom and will live forever in God's presence.

She is survived by her eldest son, Seth Little, of Colorado, and her sister, Meredith Mygatt, of Englewood, Florida. In addition, she leaves behind seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands Robert Griffin and Col. Byron Meader as well as her older brother, Jeffrey Pease, and her son, Jason Little Griffin. Prudence will be missed by her family, lifelong friends, and her fellow church members.
