Quenton Bagley, 82, of Salem, died from natural causes Sunday, January 8, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born July 30, 1934 in Salem, Idaho, to Lorenzo and Ethel Bagley, the 9th of 11 children.
He attended school in Sugar Salem and graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1953.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After high school he served a mission to the Eastern States Mission.
A month after returning home he met his eternal companion, Norma Jean Hawkes on a blind date. They were married August 1, 1958 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three children: David Lorenzo, Evelyn Kay and Kris.
Quenton worked hard to support his family. He ran his farm and milked his cows all while working a full time job at Basic American Foods. After retiring from Basic American Foods in 2000, he continued to farm until 2015.
Quenton loved NASCAR, football, and world series baseball. He enjoyed old movies, good westerns, and good old fashion country music. He enjoyed riding horses, working his cows and always had a good dog at his side.
He is survived by his wife, Norma of 58 years, his daughter Kay (Brad) Hilton, his son Kris (Marsha) Bagley, brother Myron (Rose) Bagley, sister Vesta Withers, 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, which he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Bagley, son-in-law Steve Munns, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12th at the Salem LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
