Randall Grant Johnson, 50, of Rexburg, Idaho, passed away April 19, 2021 after a brave and hard battle with pancreatic cancer.

Randy was born July 27,1970 in Rexburg, Idaho, to Grant and Linda Johnson of Sugar City, Idaho. Randy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1989. He served a mission to the West Indies, where he made many cherished friendships. When he returned, he went to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, where he met the love of his life, Malena Carlson. They were married in 1993.

Randy graduated in civil engineering from the University of Idaho. He worked as a civil engineer for six years in Seattle and seventeen years for Forsgren Associates in Rexburg. Randy had a passion for learning and loved family, fishing, traveling, and cheese. Randy loved a good laugh (especially if it was a dad joke). He sought to be a friend to all those who knew him.

Randy is survived by his wife, Malena, and their daughters, Danielle and Makenzie, his parents, Grant and Linda Johnson, siblings: Brian (Keiko) Johnson, Lisa (Dan) Adams, Amy (Allan) Christean, sisters-in-law Melissa Johnson Candland and Heidi Moore, parents-in-law, Barbara and Mel Wheeler and Brent Carlson.

Randy is preceded in death by his brother David Johnson and nephews Logan Johnson and Tyler Hinckley.

Due to covid regulations, we ask that only close family and friends attend the funeral. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The viewing will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and prior to the funeral service at Flamm Funeral Home. The funeral can be viewed online the day of the service at Flamm Funeral Home's website. Interment will be at the Sugar City Cemetery.
