Raven Carter

Raven Elizabeth Malique Carter Wray passed away surrounded by family and her loving husband, Hyrum Wray, Friday June 26th, 2026 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Raven was born February 27th 1997 to Jocelyn Carter at Madison Memorial Hospital. She lived in Reno, Nevada; St. George, Utah; and Rexburg, Idaho during her early childhood years. Her maternal grandparents, Jeff and Patsy Jones of Idaho Falls, were her primary caregivers during her school years. Raven attended Edgemont Elementary School in Idaho Falls, and later transferred to Madison School district. Attending school in Rexburg, she was a pupil in Kennedy Elementary, Madison Jr. High and graduated from Madison Sr. High school in 2015. She was an athlete as a varsity cheerleader, a musician in the school orchestra playing violin, and a dedicated student with excellent grades. She always made her family proud with her many gifts and abilities.

Raven attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. She eventually settled into her career as a business officer at Eagle Gate College where she was employed at the time of passing. She met her future husband, Hyrum Wray while still in high school. They described each other as “Best friends who fell in love.” They reconnected as adults and married September 17th, 2022 in a beautiful outdoor setting. Hyrum was the love of her life and always so supportive to her.

Raven loved cats, Harry Potter, and crafts like book binding and crochet. She spent many hours in the greenhouse and garden with her grandmother, Patsy. Her home and office were filled with plants that she meticulously cared for. She could be found in the kitchen cooking for those she loved, surrounded by the kitties she loved dearly. She treasured a handwritten recipe book that her Grandma had written and passed family recipes down to her. Raven loved Christmas time and had a tree dedicated to Harry Potter that she decorated with Hallmark ornaments, and topped with a model of the enchanted, light blue, 1962 Ford Anglia from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.” Those who knew her know that Raven was magic too. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She will be missed more than words can ever convey.

Raven is survived by her husband Hyrum Wray; Mother Jocelyn Carter; Grandparents Jeff and Patsy Jones, Lance and Kenna Carter. Mother and Father in-law Dwight and Jenny Wray; Aunt Stephanie Adams, Uncle Darrin Carter (Tami Musante) and 2 cousins Tiffanie Tibbitts (Ted Muller) and Toby Tibbitts; Furbabies Pinecone, Marcy, Mr. Pickles, Tina

She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents Blair and Velma Calaway; Uncle Roger Tibbitts; Beloved pet cat Bitsy

Funeral Services are Wednesday July 1st at the Hibbard church in Rexburg, Idaho at 11am.There will be a viewing beforehand 10am till 10:45 am. Burial will follow at Sugar City Cemetery.
