Obituary

Rayola Birch (92) was reunited with the love of her life, Lowell, and her two sons, Michael and Shayne, on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Rayola was the sixth child of Erastus and Katie Rudd. She spent her youth walking with her friends along the railroad tracks from Parker to St. Anthony to see their beaus. Rayola would also sneak in some driving practice while her Father was in the field farming. However, she would only drive back and forth 10 feet or less so her Father wouldn't catch her.

The beau that caught Rayola's eye and stole her heart was Lowell Birch. They were married in 1944 while he was on a military pass during a blizzard in St. Anthony. They were sealed a week later in the Salt Lake Temple.

Rayola's greatest accomplishments in life were her seven children, 29 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She loved working with the youth of the Wilford Ward and the many other callings she was privileged to serve in. Rayola was a hard worker and always made sure everyone was taken care of and well fed in the process.
Rayola is survived by her brothers, Cornell and Clayton; her children and their spouses, daughter-in-law Jackie, David (Toni), Kenneth (Francisca), Dennis (Christy), Celinda and Ronald (Mari Ann).

The family would like to give special thanks to Encompass Home Health and Hospice, Denae Meikle, Hailie Birch, Baily Birch, Kay Bodily and Deisha McMurry for their kind and loving care of our Mother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at the Wilford 2nd Ward LDS church at 11am with Bishop John Sharp officiating. Family will receive friends Friday, October 21st from 6-7:30 pm at Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony, and again Saturday at the church from 10-10:45am. Burial with be at the Wilford Idaho Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rayola's name to Primary Children's Hospital, Fremont County Sr. Citizen Center, or Idaho Public Television.
