Reba Farrimond Bauer, 81 of Wilford, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at her home.
She was born January 5, 1929 in Twin Groves, Idaho the 7th child of John William and Millie Baker Farrimond, in a family of 8 children. She graduated from St. Anthony High School in May of 1947. In 1984 she attended one semester at Ricks College, of which she was very proud to have accomplished. She has now graduated from the School of Life Experiences and gone on to other places and things.
She married Gene Keith Bauer on October 7, 1947 and has lived in Wilford, Idaho from that time. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions. Her favorite calling was "the one she was serving at the time" (she had many "Favorite" Church Callings in her lifetime). She said she was always enthused and excited when she received a calling and was almost as enthused and excited when released. She believed there would always be another position for her. She loved serving in her church, regardless of the position in which she served. Serving as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple , for 9 ½ years, was her favorite of all places to be. She loved her temple brothers and sisters, those whom she served with and also those patrons who came so faithfully to the temple.
She also served in the PTA when her children were in school and was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Of all things in her life, she loved her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ more than anything. She loved being a homemaker, mother & grandmother. She loved being with family and doing family things. Her family and her church were her life.
She is survived by her husband Gene of Wilford, ID; children, Max Jeffrey (Willa) Bauer of Winston Salem, North Carolina; Bradley Gene Bauer of Rexburg, ID; Debra Marie (Jeff) Buster of St. Anthony, ID; Kevin Stacey (Julee) Bauer of Rexburg, ID; 3 sisters, Darlene Wright of Provo, UT; Donna Jensen of Idaho Falls, ID; Jossine Saurey of St. George, UT; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jack Farrimond and James Baker Farrimond; 2 sisters, Alberta Sorenson and Ruth Wright; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilford LDS Chapel, 215 N. 2400 E. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
