Rebecca J. Sykes was born June 14,1980 in St. Anthony, Idaho.  She passed away quietly at home on Sunday, June 8, 2025 after a long illness. She is the daughter of the late Dan Sykes and Marcus and Sandra Worrell of St. Anthony.

She attended schools in St Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1998. She was active in band, pep band and played basketball throughout her high school years.  She was always a "firecracker",  we never knew what she was going to do.  She enjoyed dancing and clogging, and playing softball with her family and friends.

Rebecca married Sid Sakota on September 19, 1998 in St. Anthony beginning their adventure in Pensacola, Florida, San Diego, CA, to Fort Mead MD. They became the parents of a beautiful daughter born on April 23, 2000, Courtney Dannielle.  Sid and Rebecca later divorced.

In 2007 Rebecca was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and came back to St. Anthony to live.  She
fought valiantly with this disease until the treatments failed.

She was a joy to those around her, spreading happiness and kindness to everyone. Rebecca leaves a legacy of love to those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Courtney (Noah Burt) Sakota from Maryland, parents Marc and Sandra.  Sisters Valerie (Boyd) Hubbard, Stephanie (Louis) Colledge.  Bonus brothers and sisters, Jennifer Parkinson,  Blaine Worrell, Kathy Brenneise, Robert Worrell, Karen Holderman, Laura Ridge.
She is preceded in death by her father, Dan Sykes, grandparents Lyle and Jean Dalling and Dellas and Teresa Smith.

Services will be Monday, June 16th, 11 a.m. at St Anthony Second Ward, 145 E 1st N, St Anthony Idaho. The family will receive friends Sunday June 15th, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and again Monday 10 a.m prior to the service at the St. Anthony Second Ward building. Internment will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
