Rebecca Ann Schofield Webber was born on December 31st, 1973. She passed away July 4th, 2016 at her home in Holladay, Utah. Rebecca was a valiant fighter as she has dealt with brain cancer for the past 15 years. She has always maintained a positive attitude, whether it was with her students she taught, her family at home, or all the many friends she met along the way.
She grew up in Sugar City, Idaho where she worked alongside her family in their family owned grocery store. In high school, she participated in drama, drill team, cheerleading and her favorite activity of all, "Swing Choir". After high school, she graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's in Music with an emphasis in Choral Education. She interrupted her studies to serve a mission for the LDS church in the Nebraska, Omaha Mission. She treasured those 18 months of service and the people she met. She has continued to serve in the church and loved her callings in music and Primary.
After graduation, she accepted a position in the Park City School District where she taught choir, dance and theater for the next 15 years. She also had the opportunity of teaching at Mountainville Academy in Alpine, Utah. As a teacher she was a great influence on hundreds of students, parents and fellow staff members. Her specialty was directing and presenting over 40 fabulous plays and choir concerts, never forgetting a detail. Rebecca was a leader in her field serving on many music boards and councils and was the co-founder of MusicExplorers, a publisher of children's music and musicals.
While attending a singles ward in Salt Lake, she met and married Garth Webber on June 21st, 2001 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple. Along with this marriage came an adorable young son, Gaden. Later, prayers were answered as they were blessed with two more beautiful sons, Canon and Max. Even though she was busy in her career, motherhood was what she loved most.
Rebecca was a ray of sunshine that will be forever remembered and deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Garth and sons, Gaden, Canon and Max of Holladay, Utah. Also her father, William Schofield, Sugar City, Idaho and sister AnJanette (Ned) Warner, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Father-in-law and mother-in-law Jimmy and Jo Webber, Tooele, Utah. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Forsyth Schofield and her grandparents from both families.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 8 at 7-8:30 PM and her funeral will be on Saturday July 9, at 1:00 PM both at her LDS Ward on 1925 East Gunderson Lane, Holladay, Utah 84124.
