Reed Erin Casper, 83, of Felt, Idaho passed away peacefully Monday morning at Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs, ID.
He was born on September 15, 1933 in Rexburg, ID to Erin LeRoy Casper and Zamona Doris Ard Casper. He was the 6th of eight children. Shortly after he was born, the family moved to Alta, Wyoming where his parents ran a farm. When he was five years old his parents purchased a farm North of Driggs and moved the family there.
Reed attended school in Driggs, grades 1 through 8 in the old stone school house. In 1951 he graduated from Teton High School where he was active in football, FFA, and playing drums in the high school band.
On June 2, 1954 he married the love of his life, Janice LaRee Brower, in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 2, 2014. Shortly after that on January 28, 2015, LaRee passed from this life.
Reed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the High Priest Group leadership. The calling he enjoyed most was Ward Librarian with his late wife and daughter Stacy.
He was a hard worker, farm and family were always the most important things in his life. No job was ever too hard, always digging in and making sure the farm paid for itself. In 1972, he and LaRee sold the milk cows and bought a farm in Felt, ID. They moved the family there and began raising hay, grain, beef cattle, and potatoes.
He leaves behind a son, Martin Shane (Brenda) Casper; daughters, Shelly Mink (Kurt) Daniels and Stacy Rae Casper; six grandchildren, Shaylene (Joe) Peninger, Adam (Sheena) Daniels, Sheena (Brett) Davis, Zachary (Melissa) Daniels, Sara (Tyler) Horrocks and Jesse (Brianna) Daniels, a step-grandson Cody Dean and 16 great grandchildren.
