Obituary

On November 16th, 2012 Reed Oldham quietly passed away at his home in Rexburg.

Reed celebrated his 98th birthday earlier this year.

Reed Oldham was born June 7th, 1914 at Hibbard, Idaho. He is the son of William Brown, and Emma Pfost Oldham. He was the only son, with 5 younger sisters. Reed attended schools in sterling,
Idaho, Hibbard, Idaho, and graduated from Madison High School, a member of the Class of 1932.

After graduation Reed attended Utah State Agricultural College (U.S.U.)in Logan, Utah, his field of study was Civil Engineering. While in Logan Reed met Helen Roundy, of Benson, Utah. After a year long courtship, they began
their life together on December 15th, 1938, Reed and Helen were sealed for all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple. They began their lives together in
Rexburg, and Hibbard area. Their home has been blessed with a family of 5 children. Lyle Reed (Ann) Oldham of Ashton, William Brooks (Betty) Oldham, of
Hibbard, Edwin Seth (Gloria) Oldham, of Ammon, Juan Burdette (Marcene) Oldham,
of Hibbard, Helen Lynnea (Paul) Christensen, of Idaho Falls.

Reed loved farming, and his engineering interests lead him to an active part in the irrigation water affairs of Idaho. Reed served for many years as President
of the Consolidated Canal Company, and as a board member of the Teton Island Canal Company. He was a member of the Salmon Falls Water Project, the Swan Falls Water Project, Idaho State Water Board, and served for many years as Chairman of the Committee of Nine.

Reed was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He has served diligently in many church callings in his many years.

Reed and Helen enjoyed their family, and traveling with their sisters. His passions of life were his family, agriculture & irrigation water, jigsaw puzzles, reading and TV.

Reed was proceeded in death by his dear wife Helen, his parents, 4 sisters, and his son Lyle.

His posterity of 4 living children and their mates, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, will miss him.

Services will be held Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Henrys Fork Stake Center, 1631 W 3000 N, Rexburg, Idaho. The family will meet with friends Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home, and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Tuesday. Internment will be in the Rexburg, Cemetery.
