Obituary

Reta Allgood, 81, of St. Anthony passed away peacefully on Friday October 29, 2021, at The Homestead Assisted Living in St. Anthony.
Reta was born August 10, 1940, to Alex and Emma Coleman of Wilford, Idaho. She was the fifth of six children, Anna, John, Julia, her identical twin Rhea, older by 20 minutes, and Emmy. Reta grew up on the family farm doing chores, riding horses, and catching snakes to slip under occupied bathroom doors. She attended school at South Fremont and met her future husband, Buddy Allgood there. The two were married on November 10, 1961, and had two sons, Trent, born in 1962 and Troy, born in 1963. Unfortunately, there were two stillborn sons, Todd and Tyree later in life.
Reta spent her time raising her boys and spending time in the outdoors with her family. She worked for Artco Inc. in Rexburg for many years and later transferred to their wedding accessories division, Hortense Hewitt. This later position allowed her to travel the country to wedding shows and she loved getting to experience different parts of the country.
Reta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints her entire life and held many assignments within the church, but her favorite was undoubtedly working with the young people in the nursery and as a Sunday school teacher. Reta's love of all children was evidenced by the amount of candy and snacks she kept on hand at her home for the little ones in the neighborhood.
Reta was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Allgood, her parents, Alex and Emma Coleman, her son Trent Allgood, and her two stillborn boys, Todd and Tyree.
She is survived by her son Troy (Lynda) Allgood, daughter-in-law Kim Allgood, and her siblings, Anna Jane Anderson, John Coleman, Julia Zinie, Rhea Orr, and Emma Lou, (Nolan), Bloom. She had 4 grandchildren, Zach, Matt, Devon, and Chase and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 11:00 am at the St. Anthony Stake Center. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Teton/Newdale cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.flammfh.com.
The family would like to thank the CNA's, nurses, and staff, (especially the cooks), at The Homestead Assisted Living and Hospice for their loving kindness and gentle care.
