Obituary

Reva Ritchie Hill, age 89, of Rexburg, died November 27, 2013. She was born March 14, 1924, in Ucon, Idaho to Clarence James and Mary Robinson Ritchie. She attended grade school in Ucon and graduated from Ucon High School in 1942. She graduated from Ricks College and Utah State University. She taught school in Pocatello, Idaho while her husband attended Pharmacy School at ISU. She taught school for many years in Madison County School District.

She married Harold D. Hill on June 5, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Their 67 year journey together was marked by love, humor, happiness, compassion, and abiding tenderness.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including MIA counselor, MIA president, Relief Society Stake Boards and Stake Relief Society President. She taught the Laurel class in MIA for many years.

After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed spending their winters in St. George, Utah. They served two LDS missions; one in Perth, Australia and another at the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center in San Diego, California.

Reva and Harold had three sons and one daughter. She was a devoted mother and rejoiced with her children in their successes and sorrowed with them when illness or death came.

She is survived by her husband, Harold of Rexburg; children, Brent (Julie) Hill of Rexburg, Valynn (Mitch) Jacobs of Hamer, Brian (Renee) Hill of Idaho Falls and Brad (Lori) Hill of Egin; 21 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Vesta Parish, and a grandson Ritchie James Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, at the Rexburg 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 166 South 1st East, with Bishop Brad Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
