Rex Verl Anderton passed away at age 68 on February 13, 2016 at his home in Rexburg, Idaho. He was born in Roosevelt, Utah September 20, 1947 to Thomas Herbert and Mildred Mitchell Anderton.
Rex grew up in Duchesne county Utah and graduated from Duchesne High School.
As a young man Rex served as a Navy hospital corpsman with the Marines in the Vietnam war where he saved many lives and was spared where others were not. After being honorably discharged from the military Rex attended Brigham Young University where he met his sweetheart Linda Anne Faller who accepted his proposal of marriage after 23 days of courtship. Rex and Linda were joined together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on July 11, 1969.
Rex had a passion for creative projects of all sorts; drawing, painting, woodwork, architecture, gardening, and photography. He loved to make the trivial extraordinary and the mundane incredible. Rex was a genuine and honest man who loved to bring smiles to peoples' faces and was frequently willing to go the extra mile to do so. Rex was a loving husband and father who cared deeply for his family. He valued his time with family above all and he will be sorely missed.
Rex is survived by his wife, Linda, his seven children; Sharina, Kristie, Susan, Bonnie, Jenelle, Tim, and T.J., as well as16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is survived by his 3 brothers: Ralph, Ned, Earl and his sister, Pauline.
He was preceded in death by his parents & step siblings: William, Robert, Dee, Georganna.
Funeral services will be held both in Rexburg, Idaho and Bountiful, Utah. The Rexburg Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 17th in the Rexburg 13th Ward Building located at 210 South 1200 West Rexburg ID. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Funeral services in Utah will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 18th at the LDS chapel located at 2651 S 500 W, Bountiful Utah. The family will receive friends there from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial at the Lakeview Memorial Cemetery will follow the Bountiful service.
