IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rhea Theresa
Beck
September 27, 1927 – March 18, 2023
Rhea Theresa Jackson Beck, 95, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Rhea was born September 27, 1927 in Pingree, Idaho to Willard Jackson and Elva Theresa Dance Jackson. She had two older brothers, Willard (only lived 1 hour), Gene, two younger brothers Lee and Ray and a younger sister Mae.
She was born during the great depression but never remembered feeling hungry, cold, or unloved. Her high school years were the World War II years. She remembered rationing rubber, gasoline, sugar, and many other things. They danced in the rain on the streets of Blackfoot, Idaho the day the war ended. After High school graduation she began her career as a telephone operator.
Dating years were spent dancing to the big band music at different dance halls throughout the valley. It was at one of these dances she met Earl Beck. They were married Friday, January 13, 1950. That spring they moved from Rigby to Archer to begin farming. Rhea was very supportive and involved in the farm. She loved the Archer/Sunnydell area and lived there the rest of her life.
Rhea loved her family. Her children and grandchildren have fond memories of going to Grandma's house, enjoying her good cooking, homemade bread and cookies. Many happy times were spent enjoying the vegetables and fruit from her gardens. She always had beautiful flowers growing too. We could always expect a birthday card with a crisp $10 bill in it for our birthdays and Christmas. Taking care of her faith, family and home were her priorities.
In her spare time she loved to read a good book, do a crossword puzzle, and read the newspaper.
Rhea was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served faithfully in her callings in all the organizations. She also enjoyed serving with Earl in the Idaho Falls temple. Rhea and Earl were sealed and their children sealed to them in the Idaho Falls Temple August 18, 1965.
Rhea is survived by her children: Brenda Parry, Jerry (Sheryl) Beck,, Janet (Rob) Webster, and Christy (Larry) Ricks. 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl, grandson Steven Webster, and son-in-law Lane Parry.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Homestead Assisted Living and Homestead Hospice for the kind and compassionate care given to our Mother.
