Robert Earl Koblenzar passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home in St. Anthony, with his loved ones in attendance. Bob was 96 years old, but had the mind and body of a much younger man up until the last few months of this year.
Bob was born to Herman and LaMonte Koblenzar on April 5, 1926 in St. Anthony, Idaho. After his parents divorced, Bob went to live with his Dad and uncles on the Oregon coast in Ophir, Oregon. He spent his childhood playing in the forests, picking berries, playing basketball, walking barefoot and climbing on the rocks along the beach. He was very involved with the Koblenzar Bros family businesses which consisted of garage, service station, general store, cafe and 14 cabins on the original Highway 101.
After several years of working in the logging industry, Bob moved to St. Anthony, Idaho to assist his mother on the farm. Bob had a natural aptitude for farming, developing machinery and farming techniques. He was proficient at anything he set his mind to.
Bob met Ethel Dean Watson during the summer of 1966 at Heise Hot Springs. They were married on February 18, 1969. Their daughter Kelly Sara was born on November 23, 1977 which completed their family. Bob was an exemplary husband, father and neighbor.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Conn, Steve and David Bauer, brother-in-laws George Van Deusen, Galen Nelson and sister-in-law Ann Bauer.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel, of 53 years, his daughter Kelly and siblings Rick Bauer (Donna Mattson), Phil (Karen) Bauer and Merry Van Deusen, sister-in-law Quenalee Nelson Mickelsen and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary, 581 E. 1st N., St. Anthony. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
