Obituary

Robert Howard Lichtenberg, 61 of Sugar City, died July 17, 2009 in Idaho Falls. He was born December 4,1947 in the Bronx, New York to Norman S. Lichtenberg and Winifred Cody Lichtenberg. He married Sharla Anderson April 1, 1972 at Burton. Bob graduated from Washington-Lee high School in 1967 where he participated in the Northern Virginia Science Fair building lasers that impressed his colleagues on very high professional levels. He also attended Northern Virginia Community College, completing a two year degree in communications technology. He then went into the Air Force during the Vietnam era training to become an expert on Nikola Tesla's studies and patents. He moved to Idaho in 1979. Bob was influential in community safety , Unified Sportsman Club and was a safety gun instructor. Bob was a physical plant maintenance supervisor for Madison School District for 17 years. He is survived by his wife Sharla of Sugar City and children; Robert Kirk Lichtenberg of Idaho Falls, Stanley Eugene Lichtenberg , Melissa Ann Lichtenbert and James Christopher Lichtenberg all of Sugar City, siblings; Bill (Beverly) Lichtenberg of Burton and Connie Russo of New York and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Sugar City LDS 2nd Ward. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery with military rites.
