Robert Lee Meikle passed away on October 14 ^th , 2022, at the age of 99, just 2 months short of 100, at the Spring Creek Assisted Care center in Meridian Idaho. Dad was born on January 14 ^th , 1923, in Bedford Wyoming to Linel and Ida Meikle. Dad's mother passed away when he was just 9 years old and left Linel with 5 kids to raise. Linel moved to Thornton Idaho and married Olga Lenz and added another brother and 3 sisters to his family.

As a young man he worked for several farmers in the Rexburg Area. He met Arlene Weaver at his parents' home as she was there to get her hair done. After a short 6-month courtship they were married on April 25 ^th , 1946, in the Logan LDS Temple and made their home in Thornton. They went to Provo and Dad worked at the Steel Mill there, but they returned to make Rexburg their home and lived most of their life there. Dad worked for Ray Payne Implement and learned the trade of fixing hay balers and became known as the best baler mechanic anywhere, according to the many farmers he helped. He later worked for Tractor Sales and Auto for many years. During the last years of his life, he lived in Idaho Falls Idaho and Meridian Idaho near family.

Dad loved to fish and spent many hours fly fishing, but he and Mother loved to travel and went all over the United States in truck and trailer or their car, over the years. He loved being around his family. He will always be remembered as a Christ Like, humble, gentle and kind man to all that knew him.

Dad is survived by his 2 Sons and Daughter in Laws, Val and Lois Meikle of Meridian Idaho and Terry and Shirley Meikle of Anthem, Arizona. He is also survived by 2 Sisters. He has 5 Grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grand Children. He was preceded in death by one Great Grandchild, Faith and his beloved wife Arlene.

Dad had requested to not have a fancy funeral but just a simple service. In keeping with his wishes there will be a family viewing at 10:00 AM thru 11:00 Am on Friday Oct. 21 ^st , 2022. A service will follow the viewing, at Flamm Funeral Home at 61 N 1 ^st E in Rexburg Idaho with burial at the Menan Butte Cemetery for family members and invited guests. No flowers please.
