Bob was born at home on April 28, 1926 in St. Anthony, Idaho. He was the first of three sons born to Edwin Dean and Stella Miller Orme.

When they returned from their missions, Bob and Carol courted and were married on December 27, 1950 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They made their home in St. Anthony and on their farm in Egin Bench where he worked with pride and diligence in providing for his family. They were blessed with five children, of which the last daughter, Fay, was stillborn.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his life in serving the Lord as High Councilor, Bishopric Counselor, Bishop, Stake President and Patriarch.
Bob found joy and satisfaction in researching, recording and and sharing record of his pioneer heritage.
Bob loved music. He played the piano and enjoyed singing with local quartets and singing with the Mello-daires and Melody Men group.
