Sullivan
February 15, 1931 – June 5, 2022
Roger Sullivan, 91 passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his daughter's home under hospice care. He was born February 15, 1931, in Lumo Ranch Sanish, North Dakota to James E. and Louise Augusta Sullivan.
Because of the depression, Roger spent most of his youth traveling about the North West, as his father worked various construction jobs.
He married Elna Irene Nyborg in Ashton Idaho at the home of her parents on February 15, 1950.
Throughout his married life, Roger worked as a self-taught mechanic at various businesses. He was the first mechanic for what was then Ricks College and retired as the supervisor of their motor pool department. He had charge of all Ricks College vehicles and often drove travel buses for the student tours.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a bishop of the Rexburg 19th Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Elna Sullivan, and his children; Karen Hackman of Rexburg, Idaho, Keith (Terri) Sullivan of Des Moines, Washington, Dianne (Ronald) Baxter of Terreton, Idaho, Gloria (Kirk) Summers of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Robin (Scott) Packer of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Heidi (Steven) Weatherston of Rexburg, Idaho, 20 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Alice Goodall, John Sullivan, Dorris Chiasson, Molly Watts, Ruth Perdreauville and a grandson Michael Scott Packer.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10th at the Cresthaven Chapel in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and again Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.
