Ronald L Rose
January 12, 1940—March 7,2024
It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of Ron Rose. Ron passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born January 12, 1940, in St. Anthony, ID to George and Mable Rawlins Rose the seventh of nine children.
Ron had an excellent work ethic and met Lynette Clark when she was in the eighth grade while he worked for her dad during potato harvest.
He joined the Army when he was 18. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood and also served in Greenland. He moved to Utah after his service in the Army for a short time. Upon his return to Idaho his friendship, soon to be courtship with Lynette Clark rekindled. They were married on August 13, 1966, and began their blended family. They instantly had 3 children, Troy, Traci, and Kelli. Kim would join the family a year later and Ronette, 9 years after that.
Ron was an excellent provider. He strived to support his family his entire life. He worked for Hopperdietzel cheese factory, then he and Lynette purchased and ran Ron's Conoco for several years. After that adventure he then went to work for Idaho Stud Mill and worked as an equipment operator until it closed. He then worked with his brothers at Cougar Corner until he retired.
Ron was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.
Ron had two great loves, his family and golfing. He loved being with his family, and they had many family vacations and outings together.
He supported his children and his grandchildren tirelessly in all their various activities from theater, cheerleading and dancing to baseball, basketball, football, softball, volleyball, track, cross-country, golf, and soccer. He was an excellent golfer. In his free time, you could often find him on the golf course with his great friends, often with his children in tow. He attempted to teach each of the children to golf and to love golf. Some of them caught on. He was a wonderful man, an excellent provider, husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Lynette, their children, Troy Rose of Boise ID; Traci (Todd) Birch of Idaho Falls, ID; Kelli (Kurt) Bloxham of Montpelier, ID; Kim (Tanyss) Rose of Salem, ID; and Ronette Rose of Bozman, MT. 14 Grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. His sisters Veda Mae Dalley and Verla Terry. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, all six of his brothers Dean, Duane, Doyle, Gary, Merrill, and Garth. And one grandson, Tanner Strickler.
