Rose Bagley

July 29, 1934 — June 5, 2026

Rexburg

Rose Irene Chandler Bagley, 91, of Rexburg, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Rexburg, Idaho, of natural causes. She was born July 29, 1934, to Victor Stuart Singleton Chandler and Elma Irene Archibald Chandler. She was born in Teton, Idaho, at her Grandmother Archibald’s home.

Rose was the second child, and only daughter, of Vic and Elma. She had an older brother Berdett (Shirlene) Chandler. Their family was later joined by two cousins, who were adopted into their family, Mike (Laura) Archibald and Brad Archibald.

Rose attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School in 1952. She was a member of the pep club, choir, and worked on the school paper and yearbook. She attended Ricks College, studying business.

She married Myron Jensen Bagley on March 22, 1957, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had three children Todd Bagley, Blaine (Tammie) Bagley, and Colette (Todd) Davison. They had ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Rose was a hard worker her entire life and instilled the value of hard work in her children. As a young girl she picked potatoes, going down the rows and putting potatoes in baskets, earning 3 ½ cents a basket. She worked as a dishwasher in Island Park for her Aunt Nettie. She then worked nights and weekends at Evans Ice Cream Parlor, where Myron saw her for the first time. She later worked in Brown’s Food Store checking groceries as she finished high school and college. After finishing college, she began working as a receptionist and secretary for Dr. Blaine Passey for many years. Several people to this day remember her working there. She started working for the City of Rexburg in 1971 and became the City Clerk in 1978 where she continued to work hard until her retirement in 1999. Rose earned several awards while she was City Clerk.

Rose was active in the Rexburg Soroptimist Club and involved in several service projects. One she remembered and loved was the Goodfellows Program which gave Christmas boxes to families in need.

Rose and Myron started their own trucking business with their son, Blaine, Tripple B Trucking. Along with her full-time job, Rose helped with the business doing the bookwork, often working until the wee hours of the morning.

Rose was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held various callings throughout her life. One of her favorite callings was serving as Relief Society President in a ward on campus. She also enjoyed serving in the temple with her husband, Myron.

She loved spending time with her family and was devoted to them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For Rose, it was always a joyous day to be in their company, especially taking them camping. Rose loved camping from a young age and carried her love of camping with her throughout her life. She liked to do projects around her home and her and Myron were especially proud of their beautiful garden and yard, spending hours working in it.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Myron, her parents, and her brother, Berdett. She is survived by her three children.
