Rose Neibaur Barney, 86, of Rexburg, died peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday morning, February 18, 2018. Rose was born August 7, 1931, in Newdale, Idaho to Adrian and Alta Neibaur. She was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the farm irrigation canal in Newdale. She was a faithful member of the LDS church her whole life.
Rose graduated from Sugar Salem High School, and received her Associates Degree in Business from Ricks College. She later went on to serve a mission for the LDS church in Alberta, Canada. After returning from her mission, Rose was the secretary at Challenge Creamery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Rose met the love of her life, Charles Barney, and was married and sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 20, 1959. They had six children, and Rose was a dedicated homemaker her entire life, but did return to the work force in 1982, as an accountant. Rose retired from Artco on August 19, 1993.
Rose loved camping and fishing, spending time with her family, bowling and gardening. Rose kept her mind sharp by doing puzzles, playing games, reading and doing family history. She lived a life of always serving others, and never complaining. She was loved by all who had the opportunity to know her.
She is survived by her children, Angela (Carl) Helmer, Lewis (Debbie) Barney, Linden (Suzanne) Barney, Bruce (Lisa) Barney, Nola (Mark) Beckley, Daniel (Tracy) Barney; her siblings, Iris Hunter, Karryn (Les) Hunter, Kent (Ann) Neibaur; 25 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles; brothers, Clyde and Gleason; sister Ruth; and grandchildren Kristi and Justin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, at the Hibbard LDS Chapel, 2001 North 3000 West. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sugar City Cemetery.
