Rosemary Polson Blaser, 92 of Rexburg, died on March 20, 2018. She was born on May 6, 1925 in Lewisville, Idaho to Ernest and Montie Lee Polson. She was the eldest daughter of 5 children, (3 girls and 2 boys). Growing up in Shelley, she attended area schools, graduating as Salutatorian from Shelley High School at age 16. She then attended and graduated from Ricks Academy, two years later. Rosemary always loved journalism and was the editor of her high school yearbook and in college, the Viking Scroll. After she graduated with an Associate's degree in Business at age 18, she received a wartime teaching certificate, and began working at Ucon High school. She loved teaching and it was during her 2nd year there, she reconnected with her husband, Clair Blaser of Rexburg, Idaho. They had met in college and when he asked her to marry him, she said yes. They were married in the Logan LDS temple on November 9, 1945.
They settled in Plano to farm, raise their ten children and a herd of dairy cows. Rosemary never slowed down, always moving forward with a smile on her face, kind words on her lips and a song in her heart.
Rosemary loved the gospel and her life was dedicated to serving others. She was happy to accept various callings in her church, some of which included Relief Society and Primary President, teacher and stake positions, along with many others. She loved music, had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. She was a Daughter of Utah Pioneers and extremely proud of her heritage. Rosemary was a true friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She cared deeply for everyone, and was always willing to give of her time or anything else, to anyone in need. She had never spoken an unkind word about anyone, yet always saw the good in everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by all who were privileged to know her.
She is survived by her children; Greg (Kira) Blaser of Rexburg, Stephen Blaser of Blackfoot, Rebecca (Thayne) Andersen of Bluffdale, UT, Scott (Melody) Blaser of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara Blaser of Magna, UT, Teresa (Byron) Blakely of Ririe, Howard Blaser of Pocatello, Robert (Melanie) Blaser of Centerville, UT, Marty (Stancy) Blaser of Rexburg, and Jason (Diana) Blaser of Flint TX. She has 42 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her three siblings; Jean Esplin, David (Ann) Polson, and Douglas (Mary) Polson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lola, her husband and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24,at the Plano LDS church with Bishop Richard Blaser officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Saturday at the church from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to services. Interment will be in the Plano Cemetery.
