Ross Wendell Archibald, 63, of Rexburg died January 25, 2012 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. He was born September 7, 1948 in Rexburg, Idaho to Wendell Thomas and Jeanette Chapple Archibald. He attended school in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School in 1966.
He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War.
He was married to Trudy Frew. They were later divorced.
He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for HK Construction for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and pretty women. With his full, white beard he was commonly mistaken for Santa Claus.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters Wendy Jean Archibald of Jackson, Wyoming, Carla Ann Dozier of Billings, Montana; siblings Bonita "Bonnie" Herndon, Wenette Hamilton, Ray Archibald and Wes Archibald. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
