Roy Batton Jr., 78 of St. Anthony, passed away Sunday November 28 at his home.

He was born December 15, 1942 in Kingwood, West Virginia to Roy and Anna Burke Batton. His father died in a mining accident while Roy Jr. was still an infant and he was raised by his mother Anna. Roy became adept at raising turkeys and chickens.

Roy married Ida Mildred Holipski and they had 4 children. Roy and Ida joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and planned to move to Idaho but Ida was killed in an accident. Roy and his mother brought the kids to St. Anthony where he met and married Eileen Reid. They were married and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 2, 1968. He and Eileen had 4 more children and built a home together in the Twin Groves area.

Roy had his own construction company which he was still active in at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his children, Roger (Kelly) of Newdale, ID; April Batton and Ray (Trish) both of St. Anthony, ID; Craig (Andrea) of Rexburg, ID; Annette Marlowe (James) of Salmon, ID; and Randy (Holly) of Sugar City, ID; He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; both of his wives, Ida and Eileen; and two sons, Roy Alan Batton and Duane Reid Batton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony Stake Center, 247 E 4th N. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. both times at the Stake Center. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary.
