Obituary

Roy Francis Brizzee, 70, of Rexburg, died September 22, 2010 after a struggle with cancer. He was born January 14, 1940 to Francis Gunnell and Eliza Beardall Brizzee. He attended Burton Elementary and received his GED.

On December 27, 1960 he married DeAnna Tibbitts. They lived in Oceanside California while Roy served in the U.S. Marine Corp for 4 years.

After being discharged from the Marines they moved to Logan, Utah where they both worked at Thiokol. Later they returned to Rexburg making their final home in Burton, Idaho. Roy worked for U&I Sugar Factory for several years as a welding mechanic, working on high towers where they heights never bothered him. He took much pride in his welding and was a perfectionist. After the Sugar Factory closed, he worked for Dwight Spaulding on his Dairy Farm, making sure the animals were well taken care for. He worked for the Idaho State Transportation Department where he kept the vehicles running exceptionally well, retiring in 2007.

He was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and four wheeling with his buddies. He enjoyed building and working on his shop. He had many friends in his life and enjoyed teasing everyone. He especially loved his 9 grandchildren and was a great grandpa to them.

The family would like to thank everyone at JB's Restaurant for all the love, support, food and friendship they gave Roy.

He is survived by his wife DeAnna Brizzee of Rexburg, children Rick (Melanie) Brizzee, Mitch (Susette) Brizzee, Kellae (Doug) Thompson, Jesse (Darcy) Brizzee all of Rexburg; a sister Dian Antonson, brother Kyle Brizzee and sister-in-law Nelia Brizzee; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Val Brizzee and Lain Brizzee and a brother-in-law Will Antonson.
