Obituary

Ruby Irene Voss Parkinson, 73, of Rexburg entered into eternal peace Monday, April 28, 2014 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born January 15, 1941 in Teton, Idaho, to Wanda Hadfield and Raymond Henry Voss.

She grew up in Teton where she attended grade school. Later, she would attend high school in St. Anthony.

In 1957, she met the love of her life, Ross Parkinson Jr., they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 21, 1961. Ross and Ruby spent a lifetime of love and happiness together.

Shortly after their marriage, Ruby was employed at Idaho Bank of Commerce, now Key Bank, until 1965. She then retired from banking to raise their children and help Ross on the family farm.

In May of 1965 Ross and Ruby welcomed their first child, a precious baby girl, Shana. Two years later, in February 1968, they welcomed their second child, a precious baby boy, Darren.

She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had several church callings throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening and outdoor work in her early years and in her later years, she enjoyed her time curled up in her reclining chair cuddling with her favorite four legged kids, Ernie and Emma.

She is survived by her husband Ross Parkinson, her son Darren Parkinson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, her daughter Shana Parkinson of Pocatello, Idaho, a granddaughter Kristina Parkinson, two great grandson Aydan and Taylor, a granddaughter Tabitha (Johnny) Berger, two great granddaughters Haylee and Kaedence, a granddaughter, Taytumn Whitmore and a grandson Kyle Whitmore, two loving sisters and two loving brothers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Stonebridge LDS Chapel, in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home and again from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery.
