Obituary

Ruth W. Moedl, 93, of Lyman, died Monday, September 20, 2010 at her home of causes incident to age. She was born November 17, 1916 in Rexburg, Idaho to Hugh Alexander and Frances Eliza Roylance Wright. She was raised in Rexburg and attended local schools. She graduated from Madison High School in 1934.

She worked at Kings Variety Store for several years before and after her marriage.

She married Raymond Moedl on July 30, 1938 in her parents home in Rexburg. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 15, 1962. They made their home in Rexburg and she worked with her husband in their business, The Rexburg Equipment Company. Raymond died on April 15, 2000.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the first Relief Society President in the Rexburg 8th Ward.

She was active in the PTA organization while raising her children, was a member of the Merry Makers Women's Club, and was active in other community activities.

She embroidered beautiful pillow cases and enjoyed other handiwork. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

In 1968 she became confined to a wheelchair following back surgery. After her husband's death, she moved to Lyman to be near her daughter.

She is survived by her children Don Raymond (Karen) Moedl of Bullhead City, Arizona, LuJean Warnick of Moreland, Joyce (Kyle) Dayley of Rigby, Shirlee Ruth (Lynn) Webster of Lyman, Grant X. (Kathleen) Moedl of Rexburg; a brother Hugh A. Wright of St. Anthony; 22 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and two brothers.

Ruth's family would like to give thanks to all her care givers over the years, especially Nanett Pincock, Kendra Pincock, Andrea Spaulding (granddaughter), Chris Anderson, Ambrea Wright, and Rexburg Home Health.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24 at the Rexburg LDS South Stake Center, 2041 West 5200 South, with Bishop Kevin Allred of the Lyman 3rd Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
