Rick Ryan Hill, 35, died February 12, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident near Park City, Utah. Ryan is the oldest son of Rick and Julianne Hill, born June 25, 1975 in St. Anthony, Idaho. Ryan attended South Fremont High School in St. Anthony, Idaho where he participated in sports, excelling at football and baseball. He married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Malee Erickson, on February 5, 1993. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 19, 2005.
He joined the Army Reserves in 1993 and attended the University of Utah and Idaho State University. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating, water skiing, and biking. He grew up working on the family farm. He had a successful career in sales and was employed at Property 23 in Orem, Utah, prior to his death. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Primary teacher, in the Elders Quorum Presidency, and most recently in the Young Men's Presidency.
Ryan's greatest role was as a husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lisa, and his six children, Christine, Nathan, Lauren, Madelyn, Charlie, and Emily. He is survived by his wife, children, parents, grandmother, Jeanne Siddoway of St. Anthony, Idaho, siblings Bobbi Jo Blake (Dave) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Katie Crapo (Cade) of St. Anthony, Idaho, Stephanie Keele (Ryan) of Othello, Washington, Chad Hill (Penny) of St. Anthony, Idaho, Megan Summers (Shawn) of Rosendale, New York, and J.D. Hill of St. Anthony, Idaho, as well as his parents-in-law, Tom and Chris Erickson of St. Anthony, Idaho, and sister-in-law, Jennifer Gibson (Jim) of Orem, Utah. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, R.K. "Bill" Siddoway, and grandparents, Grant and Belva Hill.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sunset Heights Fifth Ward building located at 1105 West 600 South, Orem, Utah. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony LDS Stake Center (247 East 400 North, St. Anthony, ID). The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. both at the Stake Center. Interment with military rites will be in the Wilford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Wells Fargo Bank to an account set up for Ryan's family.
