Ryan Elliot Parker, age 35, of Monteview, ID, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was born in Rexburg to Don and Pat Parker on September 24, 1974.
His family lived in Longmont and Grand Junction, CO, before returning to Rexburg. He graduated from Madison High School.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout. He served a mission in Maraciabo, Venzuela from 1993-1995. He attended Ricks College, Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Spanish with a business and mathematics minor. At the time of his death he was attending Idaho State University, majoring in nuclear engineering.
Ryan and Naomi Roberts were married June 15, 1996 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for time and all eternity. They have lived in Kalamazoo, MI, Albany and Portland, OR, and Monteview, ID, where Ryan farmed with his father. He was active in the LDS church, having served in scouting and as a ward finance clerk. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, running, cycling and experimenting in the kitchen. He found great joy in obtaining knowledge, attending the temple and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi, their children, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Emily and Anna; his parents Don and Pat Parker of Rexburg, ID; and siblings, Blaine (Lori) Parker of Granbury, TX, Laurie Parker of Rexburg, ID, Julie (Ryan) Lamb of The Woodlands, TX, Debra (Jared) Hartley of Provo, UT, and Kristen (Jason) Flanders of Provo, UT.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5th, at the Monteview LDS Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services in Monteview. Interment will be in the Parker Cemetery.
